I have a batch file that restarts TaskAgent, ProcessServer, and the
SonicMQ service every night. It seems to keep MultiCompany happy.

Use the Progress Explorer Tool. While this can be installed anywhere,
you will find it on your Vantage server. Under AppServer you will see
MfgSys803TaskAgent. Right click in it and select STOP. After it stops,
right click on it and select START. Sometimes the menu is grayed out
for no reason, but you can always use the start and stop buttons on the
command button bar. Stopping the ProcessServer and/or the TaskAgent
will not kick your users off.

Whenever I need to do this, I usually do both the ProcessServer and the
TaskAgent. The order in which you do these depends on who you talk to,
but the instructor I had at Vantage Admin training said to stop the
ProcessServer first then the TaskAgent. You start them in the reverse
order, TaskAgent then ProcessServer.

I usually have to restart mine once a month for the same reason, SMTP
errors.

After you restart you can go to System Manager/Global Alert Error Log in
Vantage to view and/or resend the alerts that didn't go.

I'd like to restart the SystemTaskAgent, as we're getting some SMTP
errors for email alerts. I can't seem to find the right place to stop
and restart this service, and I don't want to have to kick all of my
users out of the system.

Can someone please point me in the right direction here?

Thanks.

Restarting the SystemTaskAgent won't kick users off of the system.
