Vantage 5.1 odbc

If you haven't used ODBC before, yes you will notice it is by nature slower. It is yet another layer between the database and the report-writer. Another layer of translation. Report Builder is much faster, albeit, less powerful of a reporting tool.

If you have used ODBC before and 5.1 seems slower than 4.0, then that would surprise me. Progress 9.1C is much more ODBC friendly than Progress 9.0.

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage 5.1 odbc

We are getting ready to upgrade to Vantage 5.1 from 4.0 and I am
writing some Crystal Reports to report some data but I am noticing
that using the Vantage 5.1 odbc driver provided is really slow on the
reports. Has anybody else ran across this problem. Thanks for your
help.
