Vantage 8.03.305 where is BPM?

Sorry for the last question, I've just updated Vantage to patch E and
after stopping and starting appservers everything is where it should
be.

Hi All,

We've had 803 installed for a while until we realised that we didn't
have license codes for BPM. Received them today and duly entered into
system.

Where is BPM on the Vantage menu, or is it another piece of software to
install on the server?

Cheers,

It is both. You'll need to enter your codes to enable it in your Vantage menu
and install the BPM software onto your webserver (IIS). You'll find the setup
on the installation DVD. They seem to want to install it on the same machine
as your Vantage server to use sockets but you can install it on another
machine and it will communicate using the http protocol.

Mark;

We have an O/S issue with running BPM. This is in development, but my
question is; We are being told that the BPM Process Server is not
required unless we run high level calls ect; I am not sure now are they
just side stepping the fact the because we are running a Linux Server
and there is no App setup for this on a Linux/Unix platform or are we
going to be forced to setup a 2nd Win32 server? Just to run 3rd party
apps with the Vantage product? any comments?

We are on 8.03.305D clean install...

Thanks

With Linux

You would have to setup a 2nd server to handle items
such as Service connect, Epicor portal, information worker, Document
management

Without fully verifying this the I believe the BPM service is only
required to call assemblies so you can do some things without it.

You could utilize virtualization but that is still windows.

You may beable to utilize mono http://www.mono-project.com/Main_Page but
untested and probably not supported

Vantage 8.03 Help seems to refer to a 'Method Directive Maintenance
Screen'. Does this appear automatically after installing BPM or does
it need to be added in manually thru Menu Maintenance?
One last question: Which components of IIS need to be installed for
BPM to work correctly? I've only got some boxes ticked at the moment
in my Server 2003 install and I want to make sure all the relevant
ones are enabled without selecting all of them.
