I would turn off Windows Defender. The protection you receive from Defender
is minimal at best. Anything that can get past your firewall, will probably
not be stopped by Windows defender. That is also what they said at
Perspectives in 2007. They also said to make sure that the Anti-virus is
not scanning the Epicor directory on the server from the clients.

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage 8.03.406A Performance
I am having performance issues and am wondering if my Antivirus and
Windows defender is the issue. I am using ESET NOD32 Antivirus and
seems that uses alot of RAM and I notice Windows Defender is using a
good chunk of RAM also. Has anyone used these programs along with
Vantage and experienced poor performances. All of our machines are
using these programs and most PC's here are about 2gb ram or less but
none have less than 1gb. Would less RAM available on the PC's be
causing performance issues with Vantage communicating to the server?
Thanks
