Vantage 8.03.409C: Viewing file Attachments

Hey Rob,

Can you elaborate? We use attachments, which I don't think takes allot of time to setup, at least when you consider the amount of time for someone to go search thru a file drawer or hunt thru multiple directories on the Server. I am not sure what nightmares you have experienced with attachments, however I would definitely be interested in looking at the screenshots you have. I am always open to new ideas and I totally trust your insight.

Please shoot those screenshots to Virginia and me, as we just had a very similare conversation on this the other day.

Good day my friend.
Jeff

You can avoid those maintenance nightmares if you display them from your network with a clever naming scheme using revision. Contact me offline and I can send you some screen shots.

I have been task with giving the functionality of viewing File Attachments from Part Maintenance in a dashboard and/or in the context menu.

Does anyone have some examples of this?
I've done this (on both counts), but we avoid file attachments like the plague (someone has to take the time to attach them, and what happens during a rev change?).
