Vantage 8 to Epicor 9 dedicated conversion tool?

Clive,

You are correct regarding not being able to download it from EPICweb. The
official name is ERP Data Upgrade Utility.

What Is It?

Epicors ERP Data Upgrade Utility moves data from Vantage 8.03 to Epicor
9.05.

Why Is It Important?

Converting sizeable databases for an upgrade can be a time consuming and
complex task, especially when it involves upgrading through two major
releases (Epicor 9.04.and 9.05). With this new utility, users can reduce
the significant time it normally takes to move data from Vantage 8.03 to
Epicor 9.05. The utility eliminates the need to install and configure
Epicor 9.04 as an intermediate, temporary waypoint during the efficient
execution of the necessary data conversion processes. This is a time saving
advantage over the old standard data conversion process. The utility
ensures the data is mapped properly into the latest version of Epicor 9 and
runs key protocols quickly and simultaneously.

Scott

As my CAM is on training in the USA, so hard to contact, I was wondering if
anyone has had any dealings with the above ?.

I've been informed that it's now GA but I don't believe that you can freely
download it from EpicWeb ?. Also does anyone know what the tool is actually
called ?.

Thanks.

The name of the file I got was EpicorDataUpgPrgs32.zip. It is a bit of a pain too. Your E9 server MUST be version 9.05.604, and your OpenEdge has to be at hotfix 21, not 23. It still runs your 8.03.409C database through the whole schema change and conversions in 904 AND 905. So it still takes quite a while to get it done from start to finish...

Thanks Matt.

When you say 'got' did you have to just request it or is it something that you must pay for ?.

Were you happy with the results it produced ?.
