Vantage freezing up randomly - PROBLEM FIXED HERE

They referred to it as: The hot fix for SP9
The call# that gave us the solution was: 1229236MPS
We finally solved the problem of our Vantage system 'freezing up randomly'.
Apparantly when we swithced servers, there was a progress hotfix we did not
install on the new server b/c it was no longer listed on epicor's website
with the other 5.2 downloads. Sad for me that the support rep I got on the
phone didn't ask me to check for this so I spent nearly 2 months with her
going back and forth on this issue until I finally got so frustrated I asked
another person in my company to start a new call. He got someone different
who told him to check for the hotfix, which we didn't have. So, they sent
us the hotfix and we installed it. We did run into a slight problem because
the hotfix they gave us was for vantage 6.1, but we are still on 5.2. So,
the first time we tried installing it, it is was looking for a file we did
not have. So, support had us make a 'dummy' file for it to find, then it
worked and all of our freezing problems have stopped. We did this last
Thursday and we have not gotten kicked out at all since then (it had been
happening 5 to 10 times a day on several power users). The way to check if
you have the hotfix -> open the file "version" (its located in the progress
folder) with Notepad and check the progress version - for us on 5.2 it
should be "PROGRESS Version 9.1D0920" - before ours was 9.1D09 and that was
our problem...
