Vantage - Link between Parent Job and Material Job (sub-assembl

Good afternoon.

Chris, the table JobProd has all the information of the demand for jobs; it tells you if you are producing for Stock, Sales Order, Job.....

Check out the JobAsmbl table.
It has some good info, if your parts are nonstock.

If your parts are stock, then I don't think Vantage really keeps track of any links.

Hi All

Im trying to write a report to show the parent job.

If the parent doesnt have enough child material (sub-assemblies or raw material)
I then want to see any jobs linked to that child (or orders in the case of raw
materials).

So I need to see the job number for the parent and if the child sub assembly /
raw material doesnt have enough on hand I need to see the job for that too.

Ideally it wants to eb in one BAQ.

What about using the Production Planner Workbench?
Just make sure that your jobs have a planner assigned and that you run the process to populate the tables to support the workbench.

Hi

Im trying to present all the data in a clear way on large screens throughout the
building.

I need to see things like which orders require certain parts etc.

I dont think Production Planner Workbench shows this info.

Also with me wanting to display it in several places throughout the building I
didnt really want to consume licences. With it exporting to xml I can display it
on an internal web page for free.

Any more thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

CHRIS

I think im getting there - I have JobHead > JobDtl > JobMtl.

Now I have JobMtl I need to find where the demands are coming from (i.e. which
parent jobs are putting the demand on the child part / job).

Any ideas?

Basically the information that is shown in the left / 2nd row in Job Manager.

Thanks.

It may be possible with a BAQ, I just haven't had time to take a fresh look at

Anyway, I pull from these tables: JobAsmbl, JobHead, JobMtl, JobbProd, PartBin
and PlantWhse. Let me know if you'd like any details.

To find the table & field linked to anything displayed on a screen,
click it then Help -> Field Help -> Technical Details. You might find
it easier to do that in Job Entry/Tracker instead of Job Manager. Doing
that should lead you to the JobProd table.

Then for more info, go to the Data Dictionary (under System Management),
look up JobProd and you'll see this: "Defines the Demand for
Production. Establishes a many to many link between jobs and the
related demand records. Demands can be orders, warehouses, or other
jobs." There's lots of other details available there.

I use those tools a lot.

Brian.
