Hi Rob,
We are on 6.1, and use the vacation accrual. Works fine for us. You do have to mark "vacation" time in payroll when you pay it, but it's nice because then each paycheck shows vacation time used and vacation time remaining - which is nice for the employees to know where they are.
The only drawback is that is doesn't accrue vacation when you don't issue a check for someone on any given pay period. (Not sure how Randy's system does that). I manually add the accrual back in if an employee does not receive a paycheck - but I just reconcile quarterly, so it's not bad. I also have to adjust a little for the accrual rate to work out, since it only goes 2 decimal positions. ie: 80 hours earned / 52 weeks = 1.53xxxxx, but 52 x 1.54 = 80.08, so I adjust .02 off each quarter. If you have hundreds or thousands of employees, it may be a hassle for you, but we're small enough that it's not that big of a task - and in the long run probably saves time over having employees ask all the time how much vacation they have or have used.
Hope that helps!

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage Payroll - auto accrue vacation
For Vantage Payroll users, anybody using the built in accrual? Any
issues using it?
We have been using Vantage payroll for some time but have not used the
built in accrual for vacation since it did not match our vacation
policy. We are discussing the possibility of switching our vacation
accrual to match the Vantage methodology and I am looking to see if
there are any gotcha's before we spend too much time on it.
