Vantage printing over citrix

Thanks for the feedback, Jim. Since reading your message, I tried different
drivers, including the straight Deskjet and some other deskjet drivers that
work fine with other printers we use over citrix. It worked ok for a little
while, but here we are a few hours later with the same error message.
Thanks for the effort, I appreciate it.

We've been using Vantage with citrix for several years now. A couple months
ago, one of our remote clients got a new printer, an hp deskjet 960c series.
Ever since he's gotten this new printer, we cannot get the printing to be
stable from this printer. We do not have problems with any other clients or
printers (we have about 15 other clients/printers). Sometimes it'll work
fine, bit inevitably he'll end up getting the following error (from the
citrix server) "Error writing to client\client_name\printer_name for
Document: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested
service." He prints fine locally and he can print from vantage/citrix to
another users networked printer without problems. I have tried searching
the citrix database and found the error listed, but it did not relate to our
problem. Has anybody seen this, or have any idea what's going on here?
(citrix 1.8, vantage 5.0, client is windows 2000)

Thanks,
Sarah

I cannot say for sure because of the intermit symptoms but I would guess a
driver problem. What I do for clients with DeskJet printers using our
Citrix server is to install the standard DeskJet driver. Sure they lose all
the driver extras, including color, but only when they print through the
Citrix server. I leave the original driver, in this case, the 960 installed
and tell them to select HP DeskJet when they print from the Citrix server,
it makes handling the issue of drivers much easier.
