Vendor Ship-To Address

We are implementing 8.03.404x (soon to be .405x).

We customized the PO entry and PO form to show the Warehouse address
instead of the plant address. this seems to bypass the multi-plant
complication and still get the effect you need with one plant setup.

In your case then you would need to setup the receiving address as a
separate warehouse and then figure out the above PO entry
customizations.

Of course having said all of this, we have tested this and it seems
to work, but we are not live on this yet.

Hope this helps.

I don't know if I am missing something obvious here or not. Is there a
set up file that allows me to set a default ship-to location for our
purchase orders? Our receiving dock does not have the same address as
our corporate address. I am sure we are not unique. Any thoughts?

If it never changes, you could just customize the form.

The way we worked around that since we have 2 buildings we receive at is to
put both addresses under "vendor" and then our purchasing department picks
which building is to appear on the purchase order. Not real elegant but it
works.

Thinking of it from Epicor's perspective (ouch! my head hurts!) multi-plant capability is intended for this (although from a real world point of view it is ridiculously overkill).

Your receiving location is in essence a separate plant and then (presumably) you transfer the received inventory to your manufacturing/order fulfillment location...

What the accounting burden of this might be is only a guess - but I'm sure it is not inconsequential.

Food for thought though.

Trish, you can set up your receiving dock as either another company or supplier and on the PO header where you have the option to choose between customer, supplier, or plant (if you have multi plant) you can click on it and it will allow you to receive to another location.

I don't know if I am missing something obvious here or not. Is there a
set up file that allows me to set a default ship-to location for our
purchase orders? Our receiving dock does not have the same address as
our corporate address. I am sure we are not unique. Any thoughts?
