It does appear that a BAQ is the only way to view a change log for an AR invoice, but I have to disagree with you about the change after posting. We sometimes have to change the commission information after posting. Our consultant came up with a cleaver method of doing this using BPM and the Memo table. The nice thing about this method is that Vantage does record the change in the change log against the invoice.
I also understand that in some future patch or upgrade there will be a built in way to change the commission information after an invoice has been posted.
In my opinion its a mistake to save the commission information in the same tables as the AR invoices. Invoices are usually posted daily, whereas commissions are usually calculated on a monthly or quarterly basis. So a mistake on a commission payment may not be caught for weeks after the invoice has been posted, but long before the commission has actually been paid.
When we were first transitioning to Vantage our consultant said that there should never be a mistake in the commission information on a invoice if it was set up right from the start. I knew this was only true in the land of OZ. Specially if you are like us where our commission territories are based on the ship to location and 95 % of our shipments are one time drop shipments for our customers. Unfortunately, time has proved me right.

Are you talking about an invoice to a customer? If so, once it is posted, it (theoretically) cannot be changed, so there should be no need for a change log. Any changes made before an invoice is posted do not count anyway. What counts is what is posted. Of course, there are clever people who can surreptitiously change a posted invoice, but such changes do not hit the change log even if you have the change log activated.
You can access the change log via a BAQ. The relevant table is ChgLog.
