VPN with Multi-Sites (UK)

Jason,

We use Vantage 4.0 in Texas and Wisconsin. Both sites are connected to the
Internet via a frame relay connection. (TX-384Kb, WI-256Kb). We have a VPN
between the sites. This was not enough to run Vantage though. The 256Kb pipe
wasn't a sufficient amount of bandwidth to run Vantage. We implemented a
Terminal Server with Citrix at our Texas site. (Same location as our Vantage
Server) Our Wisconsin site runs Vantage through the Citrix / Terminal
Server. This will work for you too. Many companies are doing this. Hope this
helps.

Subject: [Vantage] VPN with Multi-Sites (UK)

We are still in the process of implementing Vantage (4.00.612) at
Site A but have acquired two other businesses (Site B & C) in the
mean time. We are looking to link the sites with multi-site licenses.
All G/Ledger will be controlled at Site A.

The issue I have is that we are currently in the process of
installing a VPN to link the networks of all three sites as this will
work great with our email and data transfer. We will be using leased
lines, probabaly 256Mb.

The feedback I have had from Miracle / Epicor in the UK is that this
will not work with Vantage although our ISP/ASP says it will!!

Has anyone run Vantage in this or have any experience of running this
way??

TIA,

We no longer allow attachments to files. To access/share Report Files,
please go to the following link: http://www.egroups.com/files/vantage/
(Note: If this link does not work for you the first time you try it, go to
www.egroups.com, login and be sure to save your password, choose My Groups,
choose Vantage, then choose Files. If you save the password, the link above
will work the next time you try it.)

We run multiple sites on our single vantage server. Our
remote sites connect over a T1 circuit, and some of our
remote users connect to a Citrix server. The performance
using the Citrix server is great. I would look into setting
up a citrix server for the remote sites, it would allow
decent performance over your VPN Links. If you
have any questions, drop me an email, and I'll try to
answer the best I can.

Jason -

This can be done however only supports a few concurrent connections
with reasonable performance. We have done this for executives needing
remote access to Vantage.

I believe your were meaning 256 Kbps in your email and not Mbps.
If you have multiple users at each site requiring concurrent sessions,
you may want to review Hydra (Microsoft's terminal server) or Citrix
to handle this network architecture more efficiently.

Hope This Helps,
Calvin
