Hello Group
Below is how we want the warehouse and bin to work in Vantage when
backflushing occurs.
I have included some questions that I am not sure about. I did ask
Support and they were able to send me some documents on Backflushing.
They are not very clear on the hierarchy for which warehouse and bin
they pull from after the primary warehouse and bin. Does anyone have a
solution for this?

We want to use Warehouse for our location and Bin as our lot number
(yymmdd)
for inventory purposes. Our logic is that we want the system to
backflush
the oldest lot number first (bin) regardless of the location.
How does this work with Backflushing materials at a related operation?
We know that the system backflushes from the primary location
(warehouse and
bin) first. Where does it go next if there is not enough parts in the
primary location to backflush from?
Her are a couple scenarios:
1. If we have 5 warehouses (locations) with the same Bin (lot number)
in
each warehouse. What is the order of backflushing? Can we designate the
order of warehouse and bin that we want the backflushing to occur
from?
2. If we have 4 warehouses with 4 different Bins. How does backflushing
work?

Mark
I can only answer from the V6.1 perspective, but we were unable to
use backflushing because it only considers the primary warehouse /
bin. If the primary is empty, it drives the inventory negative in
the primary regardless of other inventory. It will ignore a Stop
set for negative quantities. We wanted to backflush from
floorstock, but occasionally a job is large enough to require
floorstock and "shelf stock". We did not want negative quantites so
we are not backflushing.
