EDN's Designing with LEDs workshop, held in Santa Clara, CA, on April
30, 2009, was the first industry event to address high-brightness (HB)
LED design challenges from the viewpoint of the hardware engineer. Power
control, thermal management, and optics all affect the cost, efficiency,
and lifetimes of LEDs. Lighting control and communication also affect
the system cost and usability. The Designing with LEDs workshop had
some of the foremost experts in these fields giving keynotes, papers,
and workshops.
This webcast allows you to hear the LED Manufacturers' Panel
presentation as from the workshop. You'll hear a panel of industry
experts from the Big 3 LED manufacturers - Cree Components, Philips
Lumileds, and OSRAM Opto Semiconductors - discuss the state of the art
in LEDs. What do the world's largest high-brightness LED developers
and manufacturers have to say designing with these new devices? What
do they see as the newest and strongest applications for HB LEDs? Learn
from the HB LED vendors themselves how drive electronics, thermal
management and optics selection interact with recent advances in
HB LED technology.
