Weird message trying to restart my task agents

On my test Application server, I’m getting the message “Can not connect to the application server to verify the connection information. Save changes any way?” when I try to start or stop any Task Agent from the Application server. I’m not getting the same message on my production App server. Any ideas?

the task agent can’t talk to IIS. Is the app pool running?

App pool is running. I ended up changing the owner of the Task Agent Service to my own user name to see if that fixed it, and it worked. Something weird going on with permissions on that user, I think. The weird thing is the user running the task agent service was the same user that owns the application pool.
