Thank you very much for the response! We had thought about starting with Standard and then upgrading if need be to Enterprise or Enterprise Plus...it is good to know that any version of VMWare will work for ERP10. Thank you for the suggestion and the information! We appreciate your help!
Hello,
We are looking at purchasing VMWare to setup a virtual ERP10 environment. I've been looking through various Epicor documents and I can't see where it says whether we should purchase the Standard, Enterprise, or Enterprise Plus version of VMWare. Could you please tell me what version of VMWare we would need for ERP10 and if we have a choice between the three what are some of the major benefits of one versus another? I'd appreciate any advice on this that anyone could provide.
Thank you!
Any version of vmware will work for ERP10. Whats most important for Epicor is IOPS, particularly on your storage. Epicor recommends a Raid 10 on the storage for the database server. Efficiencies are the main differences between the different versions of VMware. Each level has a little bit more management for data flow. That said, we run VMware 5.5 Enterprise Plus with Epicor 9.5 at ~30 continuous users with no issues at all. I do know the price difference between the different levels of VMware is quite a jump. I would probably start at Enterprise level.
