I just tried to edit my layout, and this popped up. I am using the smart client. I have never seen this before. What the heck?
I closed the window, then clicked the three dots again to edit my layout and it all works as expected. Glad I took this screenshot for evidence!

Iā€™ve seen it, though I donā€™t know what DRIVES it. What causes it to pop up. Just another fly to swat from time to time, I guess.

I get other random ā€œhelpā€ pop-ups at times when clicking through menus, etc. I know they serve a purpose, but to someone already familiar with the system, theyā€™re just a nuisance.

I first seen it after the 2024.2 update myself. I forgot to take a screen shot and couldnā€™t ever get it to trigger again.

It comes up all the time at totally irrelevant times. I have complained to support about it but no response so far. There is another one like that about trackers that pops up all the time.

Didnt someone mention something about something like this in one of the Controlled release meetings, something that pops up every now and again sporadically? (It may have been you)

We see these pop-ups a lot when we upgrade to a new versionā€¦ There should be an option to suppress themā€¦ maybe Iā€™ll make an ideaā€¦

Yeah, it only took three popups before I lost patience and investigated. The good news: these popups depend on the third party service WalkMe, so itā€™s easy to block. In the browser client, a custom rule like so (replace the [redacted] with your own [redacted]) in your (ahem) content manager of choice will banish the popups entirely.

Surely thereā€™s good information in those popups, but if itā€™s going to interrupt my work Iā€™m going to manage it if I can.

I wouldnā€™t block walkme. That is what serves all the tutorials in the help. I just want them to rein in the gratuitous popups as they are obnoxious and irrelevant. Yes I brought it up during the controlled release too and never heard back.
