I need guidance please. we have WIN2000, with terminal server. I am
continually getting a message that says "No license available for
product SMBSserver 5.0. I purchased 2000 which came with 5 CALs. I
then purchased an additional 5 CALs. Why is my server reporting this
message. I show in LIcense manager 10 user SMBS licenses. Needless
to say, this message is precluding users from getting on the server.

Did you buy Terminal Server Licensing as well. This is how licensing works for Windows 2000:

Windows 2000 Cal: $
Windows 2000 TSCal: $

If you buy Citrix:

Citrix Cal: $

They assume that a Terminal Server session will be utilizing Windows 2000 as the desktop, therefore you should have to buy a license. If you have WinNT 4.0 workstation or 2000 Professional installed on any of the workstation accessing Windows 2000 Server then you should be fine. Any other OS (9x environment) you will ned TSCal's.

Another item might pop up where your licensing has been lost for Terminal Services. If that is the case, you will have to update your licensing via the internet. Be very careful, the amount of times Microsoft allows for configuring TSCal licensins is very minimal. If you do it to many times they may shut you off.

Thanks for responding.... Yes I bought Terminal Server as well as the CAL's.
Which one reflects at SMBSserver? I my be confused but Terminal Server
licensing is not activated until some dials in and connects remotely. Is
that correct?
