Windows 2000 Terminal Server

I am connecting fine to the login screen. The problem is that when I log into the domain I immediatly get kicked. The only reference I see on Microsoft's site is that the license server believes the licenses are expired. I am stumped. I have a terminal server running in Baltimore on NT4 with Citrix with no problem but we aren't running Citrix down here in Florida.

I have 5 licenses and I noticed what you said about the licenses being issued. I test connected from my machine here in Florida and it took a license.

Thanks for any help or advice

Have a question for you all in hopes that you can help me avoid calling the dreaded microsoft. I have a NT 4.0 Domain controller. I have a Windows 2000 server with terminal services installed. I have just hit a problem. Is anyone able to verify my understanding of the licensing for Win 2000 Terminal server. Apparently you can not run a windows 2000 terminal server on a Windows NT 4 domain and allow remote client connections. From what I understand you must upgrade you NT domain to a 2000 controller in order to use 2000 terminal services. Can anyone verify this for me. I'm on site in Flordia for the day and would like to resolve the problem to avoid a trip back down here.

Thanks

You do not need to upgrade your domain to 2000. The win2k TS should be setup
as a member server in the NT 4.0 domain. It should be in Application Server
Mode. You will need a Terminal Server License Pack for any client other than
a Win2k professional that logs on to this TS. Once a machine (other than
Win2k Pro) connects, regardless of the protocol (ICA, RDP), a license from
your license pack is issued against that machine. You don't get it back! We
are setup this way. You should be able to connect to the server. What type
of connection errors are you getting? What client type are you using?
(Citrix, Microsoft). Let me know. I'm fighting w/ other issues regarding our
TS.

Jim,

We have a Windows NT 4 Server using it as the Primary Domain Controller. We
also have a Windows 2000 Server that is exclusively used for the Terminal
Services. Our Win-2000 server uses the NT4 Domain with Terminal Services.
We are running four Vantage users across a 64k Frame Relay data connection.
Jim,

Can't answer the licensing question however one option for you would be to
setup RAS on your NT domain controller and then let the users link to the
Win-2000-TS via IP.

We have a PDC and BDC boxes with 2 modems each for dial in access and 1
Citrix box - all NT-4. ( We haven't taken the dive yet )
