Windows Embedded

Has anyone had any success running the E10 client on the Windows Embedded OS? Presumably, it should be compatible - but haven’t we all heard that before?

Thanks in advanced for any feedback!

Probably not too helpful, but a while back we were testing some that had embedded XP and it worked with Vantage 8.03. The limiting factor was storage space, after the client install, they only had a 100mb or so of free space and quickly used it all for cache making them slow.

We ended up going with a RDP server and using the embedded PC’s as thin clients.

Thanks Randy. We’ve got an RDP solution in place but it’s kind of glitchy and not very responsive. I’m sure that IT could tweak it to make it work better but they seem a little overwhelmed at the moment.

Ran Epicor 10 on an Intel ComputeStick that came with Windows 10, not sure if it was full Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 IoT. Whatever it was, Epicor 10 ran great on it, probably better some of the other PC’s that were distributed.

I’ve been wanting to try one of those Compute Sticks for a digital display board project we’re planning (non-Epicor).
