Windows Vista & Vantage 6.1 Client setup

Just long enough to uninstall, and replace with XP for a friend. I plan
to evaluate soon as I hate purchasing new PCs with soon to be antiquated
OSs.

Subject: [Vantage] Windows Vista & Vantage 6.1 Client setup

I did it and I am not necessarily proud of it.... I installed a copy of
Windows Vista Enterprise (32-bit) on my workstation. I figured before I
go
customizing or installing a bunch of extra software I better find out of
Vantage would run. So far I am sadly disappointed. I originally
started
out with the 64-bit version but soon found that in no way shape or form
would Vista 64-bit let me run the Mfgclientsetup from my mapped V:
drive.
So I re-installed, remapped the v: drive to
\\vantage61\epicor<file://vantage61/epicor>and promptly tried the
setup again. It worked... sort of (Not at all
really). When I get past the screen were I select to display the saved
values and am asked to choose the location of my vantage files lo and
behold
I can't view the V: drive from the drop down menu that lets you choose a
drive. In fact Vista refuses to show ANY mapped drive in that drop down
list. Looks like I either need to find a tweak or hurry myself back to
XP
which wouldn't make me to sad. Has anyone else goofed around with
Vistayet?
