Winning only one qty of a quote

We are implementing yet and are designing our quoting process.

We quote multiple quantities of the same part to a large customer. There is only one part on a quote with several quantities. The customer will then let us know if we have won the part number and which quoted quantity we are awarded a contract for.

We want to keep track of which quantity we we awarded so the quote task WON status is not granular enough for us.

We plan to use the worksheet and mfg details features and we will likely customize the worksheet screen to show some calculation details.

My question is should we add a new line per quoted quantity to track the “awarded” status at the line level or can this awarded status be tracked successfully at the qty break detail?

Has anyone else done this?

We talked about using a single Parent quote then doing a different quote for each config (or quantity in your case). We could then use the Win/Lose and only use Parent Quotes for analysis.

Thanks for reply Mark. So if we just do a full new quote for each quoted quantity then we can use the WON status. We will need to mark the other quotes as LOST then even though we have won a contract for the Part overall. One more scenario to test with the team.

I was planning to setup a UD field to mark the line or qty break as AWARDED.

Right but the lost reason would be “Won on other quote”
