Workregistration on powdercoating line

Dear support !

We want to registrate our production activities from our powdercoatinglines in EPICOR MES.
We are now busy with conversion form our current ERP tot EPICOR 10.
Our jobs on powdercoating have very small quantities wich means that we are changing our product every 20 minutes.
We are working with 6 employees on the line.
We don’t have the time to registrate each job to that 6 employees because they are very busy on the running powdercoating line.

Do you have some suggestions for a good and fast registration ?

Herbert,
There are several options for reporting within MES based on the part operation/method.

Are you working with any consultants to help move you onto Epicor? These options will need to be setup and modeled and bear in mind that costing can be affected by your choices. You are asking the right questions by considering the time spent to do the reporting.

It sounds to me like you want to back flush the labor based on the quantity reported at the end of the powder coat line. This would require the operation to be set to Quantity only and the Back flush labor process needs to be running. The labor back flushed is based on the production standard on the job/method.

I have seen companies use one employee for the whole powder line, like “Powder1”, this employee has the costing labor rate and is used to do all the quantity reporting for that line.

Or you could make the powder coat operation a back flush operation, if there is always a “next” operation then the powder coating would report itself off when the next operation has quantity reported against it.

These decisions impact the part method setup and costing needs to be considered as well. If you back flush you need to set the production standard pc/hr and costing rate $/hr to cover the time for all six employees.
