Most of us use the General Ledger report, Starting Fiscal Period=1
Ending Fiscal Period=5 and do not check Print Details, you will get year
to date entries and the year to date trial balance figures for January
through May (unless you are on a different fiscal year than a calendar
year.)

We are on 6.1 and in Financial Designer Specifications the "Number of
Periods" should be 12, the other two should be zero. I use this to save
a file to be uploaded to Oracle.
