10% price increase

Yes they are still around but don’t have the functionality that EPicor has.

" You can also extend and enhance the features of your application by yourself, without any coding or development effort, by using the low-code Module Builder assistant."
Why does everything have to be low code anymore!!! I want to write some code!

It’s certainly all the rage these days, but I think it’s too “small” for us. Infor Cloudsuite seems to be closest to Epicor Kinetic all things considered but I doubt it is as good for customization

that’s…robbery. I can see if it was in the same contract time. Like if you had a year contract and dropped licenses for 6 months and then brought them back that same year. But if you downsize and then bounce back 2 years later and they try to charge you 2 years of maintenance…fk that.

I remember when they charged us a % for the Hand Held features, yet they haven’t touched or updated them since E9. The whole point of paying maintenance is for them to allocate resources to work on those modules.

Yeah, no. Some very harsh words would be exchanged, and absolutely no money.

That is how the deactivation works, but sometimes not. I dropped supplier managed inventory and then added it back as a new purchase since it was cheaper than paying back support.

Has anybody been able to get Epicor to agree to a 2 and or 3-year fixed SaaS cost model?

If you sign for 5-7 years, the annual increases are capped, but not zero.

I reached out to my CAM and confirmed that we will only get what our current contract allows. We are locked into an already agreed pricing that our contract allows, and not this 10% increase. I would recommend you read through your agreement and if you have a limit on year over year increase send it to your CAM and make them aware that it should not increase regardless of the email.

I think we’ve got something similar in place - or at least I hope we do. Had one with our last ERP platform and used to fight with them every year when they’d try to jack up our rates. We’d just send a copy of the original agreement and say…

I have worked within Infor CSI, and the UI updates are horrendous, they limit the screen size that you are trying to edit in, and they sub nest everything so there are like 20 layers to try and find the one thing you need to edit.

I guess what you’re saying is that it makes App Studio seem not quite so bad…

I’ve used various versions of Vantage/Epicor/Kinetic over many years, and this sounds sooooo 2005-ish… and 2010-ish… and 2015-ish… and…

Me thinks you’ve been misled, sir! I believe the point is to secure steady cash inflows, in order to underwrite the development of dazzling new features, in order to capture more customers, in order to secure steady cash inflows…

It’s to pay for the new AI crap no one wants and doesn’t work. They’ve diverted all funding into that it seems.

I’ve worked with Infor’s acquired products. Epicor does at least try to do real work on their product instead of coasting on a portfolio of acquired zombie ERP’s until the wheels fall off. “It was like that when we found it lol” is pretty close to Infor for “working as intended”. Epicor seems to show some reluctance to doing work on acquired extensions but if it’s demonstrably broken it’ll probably actually get looked at.

Acumatica was a stong contender in our ERP evals a couple years ago. Should be on anybody’s list to compare if considering a switch.
