3.0 Favorites Bar Issues

I recall that in 3.0 everyone saw everyone's else's favorites in Item Maintenance, but you could only edit your own items. It was rather tricky to find your own Items at times. There is a table in Vantage that stores all that stuff, so doing a quick report to list it all out helps in gaining some organization over it. Although we never had the strange behaviour that you are describing, I remember trying to unravel things for people whose shortcuts changed -- especially shortcuts to outside programs rather than Vantage Menu items. In 5.0 it becomes a bit more intuitive in that you only see your own Items in Item Maintenance.
The two tables in Vantage that hold this info (in 5.1 at least) are FavItems and FavFolder.

issues sucessfully resolved before upgrading? Were those issues
automatically resolved upon upgrade?

On 3.00.627 I had the same behavior you described. I had to go in and
change the source code get it to pay attention to the UserID. They must
have fixed it on a later patch.
