I hadn’t even tried that yet, but that will be another issue for us, thanks for sharing!

I've ran across 2 problems with 9.05.702 BAQs that use summary tables. I'm working with support on them but thought the group might want a heads up, I'll add an update when I receive one. Background info: Data needed to calculate pension. We need employee ID, name, age (EOY), anniversary years (EOY), hours and pay, current rate of pay. This is used to project EOY wages that are used to calculate pension amounts. Not all hours are included so I need to pull hours from PRChkDtl so I can filter by pay type. (PREmpMas>PRCheck>PRChkDtl w/PRCheck and PRChkDtl both marked as summary tables.) This BAQ is working in Vantage 8.03.409A. If this doesn't get fixed I'll have to completely revamp some critical dashboards.

First problem is that cross-company BAQs returns no data if the BAQ includes a summary table. This won't affect anyone that isn't multi-company. This works in Vantage and it worked in 9.05.701.

Second problem is that no data is returned for summary tables unless they are the highest level summary table. I no longer get total hours from PRCHkDtl. This works in Vantage and it worked in 9.05.701.

I had a third problem that was new to me, but don't think it's new to the software. In Vantage I had set up Company UD fields to hold our current and prior fiscal years. In Epicor 9 I've eliminated that and used the Constants.FiscalYear field. I found I can't use that in a BAQ calculated field such as Constants.FiscalYear – Year(PREmpMas.HireDate); Year(Today) – Year(PREMpMas.HireDate) does work as a workaround.

Sue
SCR 116608 has been issued for "BAQ IsSummary doesn't calculate total correctly when multiple tables are summarized that have a 1 to many relations and are on different levels or nodes in the Phase Builder", no target yet.

No word on cross-company BAQs w/summary tables yet (unless internally a cross company BAQ is actually on different levels/nodes?). I'm pretty disappointed, I need BAQs to work cross-company and to summarize multiple tables. I'm hoping that's fixed before we set our final Epicor 9 conversion date, it's important to management that we don't lose any functionality when we convert. It scares me that they'll now quit working on Epicor 9 just like their focus moved from Vantage to Epicor 9 right after we went to Vantage 8.03.4xx...

Hi Sue - I realize this is a very old post - but I just ran into this same problem on cross-company BAQ using summary table.  It took me a while to realize I wasn't doing something wrong and then a search found your post.  Did you ever get an answer/resolution from epicor?  I am about to submit a call to them.

FYI to anyone interested – response form Epicor support:

SCR 124711 - Cross-company BAQ fails to return data when child table is summarized Has been fixed on Epicor 10.01.000, it is tentatively scheduled for release on 3/15/2015. There will be no one off fixes released for Epicor 9 due to the fact that changes in the tool set were needed to fix this issue.

I see you got the answer from support. This bug was the main reason we won't upgrade past 9.05.701 (before the BAQs were broken). You may be able to get some info you need by using a dashboard report which can combine data from multiple BAQs in a Crystal Report. You can do some manipulations with summaries and sub-reports in the Crystal report and produce a bare bones report that can be exported to Excel. We rely heavily on cross-company BAQs for payroll and 401k processing; the users that need that data are very "low tech". I can give them the info they need easily when the BAQs work. Since it only affects cross-company BAQs I suspect it was a low priority for Epicor.
On a side note. I realized you can have only one summarized table in a query in 9.05.701

If you have more than one, it breaks the query.

I didn't realize that Ted...I just tried it and it blew up. You can't branch off to more than one summary table, but you can "stack" them. For example, PREmpMas>PRCheck>PRChkTax displaying TOTAL(PRChkTax.TaxableAmt) with both PRCheck and PRChkTax being summary tables. You get a nice one line per employee result. I think that was another BAQ feature that broke after 9.05.701. Thanks for the side note on multiple summary tables...I'll file it away so I don't waste time and energy trying to get it to work!

Thank you for the feedback and advice. I have all of my reports already working in MS Access (from way back on Vantage 5.2 -> because we just went from 5.2 to 9.05). I have been working on converting what I can to BAQ’s/dashboards, but then I ran into this issue. MAJOR issue for us in proceeding in report conversion so at this point I am only going to do the simple ones and wait til we upgrade to 10.1 to do all the others JÂ
