This is a figure that really messes up average costing. It becomes a
major problem when a receipt is made in error, and deleted. The receipt
is average costed with the existing inventory when entered. However,
when it gets deleted the average cost is not corrected. Instead an
ADJ-PUR transaction is created to cover the variance difference.



I have attacked this issue from many directions. Initially, I received
the response that the "System is working as designed" for my final
answer. The last time I asked the question (last week), I received the
response as "This is a system programming limitation." For whatever
reason, mentally, I am more receptive to the last phrase, but either way
it seems broke.



This does not look like an issue in version 8.0.

They told me it should be out this fall.

I think there is support for Non-quantity Stock Parts. Basically a
part with no stock quantities. Could be just expense items such as
Ink cartriges but also can be attached to a BOM if require. Very
good feature. There is better demand management, some project
management enhancements. Multiple bill to addresses.

This is where a Purchase invoice has been matched to a 'Goods received
not invoiced' receipt and a variance between the two has occurred.



This transaction does not affect the stock cost, but posts it to a
purchase variance account or suspense account (depends on how your
system is configured,)



PO says 1.00$

Receipt says 1.00$

Stock Value Says 1.00$

Goods Received not Invoice says 1.00$

Purchase Invoice says 1.10$

The 10 cents will be posted to the variance account under the ADJ-PUR
transaction.

It's a purchase price variance that's created any time a receipt is made
to stock for which the standard material cost does not match the
purchase price of the P.O.
As a result, the system reports the variance to the applicable A/P
variance accounts that are set up in Vantage.
