Amazon FBM and FBA integration with Kinetic

Good morning,

about 18 months ago I started looking into this process of handling Amazon FBM and FBA order processing. Right now, we are looking at FBM only but know that FBA will come into the picture at some point in time. I did not want to open the old ticket but can.

For FBM this would be loading the order, automatically printing the pick slip (or sending it to fulfillment workbench), process the shipment and then invoice. (Maybe I am missing something).

For FBA, we would need to create a transfer order, send that to the amazon, then when a shipment occurs at amazon, load the order and invoice amazon. So, we we invoice on the order not the shipment. We would want this to be automated and I believe that can work maybe as a counter sale.

If you are doing this is this through flat file, EDI, Vendor Seller API? What was the go live process? unfortunately, this has been in discussion but not with me and the team.

Any insights or experience would be greatly appreciated.

We currently use a cloud service that pulls the orders from Amazon using the Seller Central API and then pushes them to Kinetic. As soon as we get the appropriate upgrades and in place, I intend to use Automation studio to eliminate the cloud service.

We don’t currently do FBA, but when we did, we just set Amazon up as an additional warehouse and transferred inventory to that warehouse as we shipped product to Amazon. When orders came in, we processed a dummy shipment from the Amazon warehouse and invoiced.

For FBM, the orders come in via the middleware service and are packed and shipped pretty much as a normal order. The variation from our normal process is that our shipping line pulls the freight and the shipping label from Amazon. That way we don’t need to push fulfillment information back to Amazon and as I understand it we get better protection for orders that get “lost” in shipping.
