We have numerous users with Surface Pros and they have no problems, but they’re all using them as standard laptops rather than as tablets per se.
We have also dabbled with rugged tablets in our warehouse (I’m guessing for similar reasons) and they aren’t bad. They’re Windows 10 8-inch screen units with a dock and a stylus each, and built-in barcode scanner. They work well enough, though they’re a bit slow and heavy. We run MES on them, and have customized the key screens to make the elements bigger.
The real problem for us is not the tablets but our warehouse workflow, which has a long way to go before it’s optimised. The tablets are fine until you need to change anything (for example picking a different quantity from a different location) and then they become a pain dealing with pop-ups and text entry.
