Application Studio, Promote personalization to customization to change column width

Goal: Take a custom built Kinetic dashboard, resize the columns, and promote the personalization to a customization. I have 30 custom kinetic dashboards to make look good and resizing columns by dragging the edge and then promoting a personalization is faster than changing column size in the Grid Model > Columns > Width.

Kinetic App is Ice.UIDbd.UseTax
Kinetic Layer is UseTax - ColSize

Open screen, load data, resize columns, save layout.

Change layer, merge layer, picked the layer, picked the personalization, promote, save, publish.

I am so close, but the layer that I merged the personalization is not working anymore. The column sizes are nice but I am missing my filters.

@dcamlin had a good post on Auto Width Columns in Application Studio Grid to change column width. I am just looking for a faster way to change the column size.

Any suggestions?

Does it make a difference if you merge the layers in a different order? If the layer with the filters is last on the list of layers to be merged, its changes should win any conflict checks. Of course, Application Studio can be pretty brittle… it might think there is a conflict where there isn’t one…

I know its not the solution you ultimately want, but if it speeds the process up slightly…

You can often double click on the border between column headings and it’ll auto-resize the column (similar to excel functionality). Again, not the be-all, end-all… but better then click/dragging each if that ends up being what you have to do.

I merged the layer with the filters last. This was in the opposite order of my first attempt. I have the same issue where my filters are gone.
