Someone straighten me out please. I am reading the field help and Auto Move field on Resource Group appears to be backwards with the same flag on Resource. Which is it? “Auto Move” implies that no material queue would be needed. But that’s not what the help says. Or do they literally function oppositely?
Doing a bit of work around this literally right at this moment, so far my understanding is: automove ticked = no material queue entry created
If I find anything to contradict this, I’ll update! So on this basis, I agree with @gpayne on it being a typo.
In 10.2.4 Auto-Move checked means move the stuff automatically, from one resource to the next.
My help says the same confusing thing. I don’t think a move request would be created unless the operator specifies it when they report quantity/end activity:
Thank you! I was going to do it but hadn’t gotten there yet I wanted to check it on a more current version of Epicor before I got too carried away. I’m only in 2021.2. Just in case it’s already been fixed.
If I recall, it changes the default for the Request Move checkbox. But the user still has an option at that time to accept that move request or they can clear it.
Yeah the help isn’t even referencing what the field does, which makes it more confusing. Move requests are generated independently of the Auto-Move setting. Auto-Move controls if the WIP quantity automatically moves from the output BIN of the reporting resource to the input bin of the next resource in the sequence.
