The Vantage Gateway and Labor Collector was written so that you could use TT5 terminals for floor data collection. The Gateway is the application that communicates with the TIMB which the TT5's are connected to. It takes the data from these and populates the VTRAN.DBF file with the transactions. The Labor Collector is the second part of this. It reads and monitors the VTRAN.DBF file and processes the records into Vantage Labor. (Although the TT5's are no longer supported in Vantage 8.0)
The Gateway and Labor Collector are a seperate install from Vantage 6.1 CD. Look at the options buttons available on the CD.
The Vantage Help has a good section explaining the structure of the VTRAN.DBF table and records.
So what you can do is install the two programs. All you need to do then is write an application to populate the VTRAN.DBF file and run the Labor Collector. It does work very well.

Thanks
