BPM on Part.Update Method

Write a Pre-processing BPM on Part.Update method with conditions like atleast one changed part, partplant, partrev, plantwhse, etc record and enable the post-processing BPM. In the Post-processing BPM, update the part UD fields with modified date and userid.

If you need to update the Part record when a change is made to the PartPlant
- you need another BPM on PartPlant to update the Part record.

Subject: [Vantage] BPM on Part.Update Method

I've made a BPM to auto-populate UserID and Date into UD fields in the Part
table when a new part is created. My next step is to auto-populate separate
UD fields in the Part table whenever the record is changed. The issue I am
having, is that I cannot get the BPM to work if an associated table such as
PartPlant is changed.

I had thought to use a query to identify the Part record which would need to
be updated, but I don't know how to get my hands on the data (i.e.
PartPlant.PartNum from the PartPlant record being changed) in order to
properly filter the query.

Lauren,

Is there a particular reason you can't use a BAM? If all you want to do is capture who did what to a certain field at a certain time, you can use the Business Activity Manager and have changes to fields reflected in the Change Log.
