BPM/Service Connect Training

CompanyID=comapnyCode;PlantID=plantcode

I put this in the companyID field all the time when I'm doing stuff that is
plant/company sensitive.

Sounds to me like everyone is in the same boat. Unfortunately, I have no
programming experience so I feel like I'm more behind than everyone else. Oh
well, I guess I'll keep on plugging away like I have been. I do want to
share two things with you all that I have learned recently in Service
Connect. You may already know this and it may be basic stuff, but it has
helped me tremendously.

1. When viewing the trace data from Vantage use XML Notepad instead of MS
Notepad

2. For those of you who are multi-plant, when mapping the primary CompanyID
you can use a concatenate statement that looks like this:

a. "CompanyID="

b. /msg/req/dta/.../company

c. ";PlantID="

d. /msg/req/dta/...plant

Those two things have saved me a lot of time and headaches.

I really wish there was some sort of manual to show me all the things
Service Connect and BPM are capable of, because I'm sure I could do great
things with those tools.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hello BPM/Service Connect users!

I have been trying to use/learn these tools for over a year now and feel
that I'm getting pretty good at them. However, I feel like there are
probably easier ways to do things and other tools that I'm not familiar
with. For the most part everything I have learned has been through trial and
error, considering that the "manuals" Epicor puts out are very limited. So
when I'm stumped I either send an email to the group or call a consultant
who bills me a lot of money...

For instance, I recently learned in Service Connect how to set which company
AND plant the "user" is logged into, to be able to create new MOM's for a
specific plant.

Another example is when Nigel recently taught me how to write a 4GL
statement in BPM (which, by the way, works awesome!). But that is just one
statement, and I'm sure there are many more...

So, I guess what I'm getting at is how did everyone else learn to use these
tools?

Very curious,

Sending message after message after message into this group. Thoroughly
annoying all.

I went to the SC class too it was pretty good.

As far as BPM the BPM webex was pretty darn good.

Now I'm trying to learn the customization side.
