Cannot return more than was issued

Note that when you ISSUE material, it asks you for the material sequence… THEN allows you to CHANGE the part number that you are actually using to fulfill the requirement. This allows you to do things like “Issue the red wire instead of the pink wire because it doesnt matter”.
I also believe that in the RETURN option, you can also change the part number that you are returning to. First you choose the material sequence, and then manually type in the part number you are returning to.

Amazing! I was able to do the change of the part, then return it. However, now I can’t change again the original part and put it back on the job entry. Do you happen to know why?

Screen shots?

It allows me to change it, but when I tab, it gets back to the previous part number.
I need to change .125 to .625. The issue was as you said previously, so I did the change on the job entry, did the return, but now when I tried to change it again, it here where I’m not able to do it.

try refreshing first, then make the change.

Same thing. It doesn’t work. I did the refresh, re-wrote the correct part number and then I tab, the system changes back to 6.125 I need to put 13.625

Do you have a cross reference in your system for it? Check internal part cross reference.

Not sure how I can check that in the system. but I don’t think the material has a cross reference. Otherwise it should have able to change it earlier…

There’s a screen for it,

But if you can’t find that, for grins and giggles, make an order and try to put in that part number on a line. (you can just delete the order when you’re done). See if it does the same thing.

None of them have cross reference:

Here is the other part:

First, try the order thing.

Next, Do you know how to do a trace?

I don’t know why it’s doing that. It shouldn’t. I’ve done this before. It’s going to be hard for me to figure out without being able to click around in your system.

Quick question. I verified the job tracker, and I found the return it was 5 instead of 6, that might caused the issue of not allowing me to change the part on job entry?
Should I return 1 more to clean the 125 and reinstate the 625 as per instructions?
See the last line, where it says 5 pieces.

You can always change the part on the job entry. It doesn’t care what was issued.
