Cloud Portal Released For Pilot / Additional

As we should be! I talked to Mark and Matt about a portal at Insights in 2016. It was a HUGE task and honestly not doable until AKS.

And to be clear, that is Ops without the Dev. I’m not sure if you’ve seen the Epicor Idea (139) that describes what user developers would like to help us stay up-to-date on the most recent versions of Kinetic:

Make Software Friendly to DevOps

Note that we’re not asking for DevOps per se. We want to be able to use the same tools that other ERP providers give their users:

Am I the only one that reads the owner’s manual that came with my car?

Probably. I tend to slowly break things in order to learn “what not to do”. But that’s what PILOT is for, right?

No, production…so we can get a DataFix.

Yes they do.
This is the tool support uses from what I heard.

Can confirm.

Can you refresh your non-prod with a blank database? Doesn’t seem like an option but maybe I am missing something.

Thats not an option that covered.
I am going to enter an Idea to see server stats. One issue I had refreshing a database was that the server didnt have enough free space.
I was able to find the error in the log fairly quickly, and had support resolve the issue the next day.

Sounds like a nice idea though.

@jlenaghan, if you’re on 2024.1 are you sure you’re on Cloud?

Yes sir, We’ve typically had to request our refreshes and regens through Epiccare so this implementation was very exciting.

I initially thought it was because we’re still using smart client, but I checked through the browser as well and no dice. I am planning on making a case to get the ball rolling.

You also have to be on the AKS cloud (not the Amazon Web Services version)… look at your URL. If it begins with something like “centralusdtapp” or “gccd” then you’re on an Amazon Web Services cloud and this functionality isn’t available (yet). I don’t know what Epicor’s timeline is for moving everyone over, but I have at least 3 clients in the same scenario.

Ah, that would be the culprit! Thank you Ernie!

FWIW, I did nothing and today it works…

I was thinking the same thing, but with the field help idea. Maybe we can do front and back??
