So, I don’t know about that… This is how I see it today:
Classic
Kinetic
Where to make 1 dashboard
“Dashboard” (Great name, Epicor)
Basic Application Wizard (in App Studio at 2022.2+)
Where to see all your dashboards
“Dashboard Maintenance”
App Studio?
I guess maybe the hope is that they’ll build it into App Studio?
No, I mean I don’t think that’s necessary, but I definitely don’t agree with the disappointment part. Though I don’t know what to expect now… Some command line interface?
Yeah I am confused on this too, have tried to get clarification a few times but no real answer yet on what is happening with dashboards. I agree if there will not be a kinetic dashboard maintenance screen we need some kind of bridge to migrate all the existing classic dashboards at once.
The same for report styles made from report data definitions that reference a BAQ as their datasource.
You have to click “generate form” on all those report styles and then publish them in order to hang them on the menu as a kinetic app so that it launches the report prompt as a kinetic form instead of a classic form.
I have to bring over a bunch when we go live and the solution workbench doesn’t “deploy” the reports at all. So, I have to go into each one, one by one, and deploy them/generate form.
if there is something that can be whipped up @klincecum i would be game but i could not find the process in a function to do it. As tracing is a pain on that process. Your help would be greatly appreciated. We are looking to go live on 2023.2 for all aspects of the business by end of January. We will have to work on the publish and subscribe on them.
I just discovered that on Friday. I started to write a rant on it and then just left work instead. It was in response to this post.
Apparently this functionality (the kinetic report form) does not exist in 2021 (our current live version), so I can’t get a head start on this. We have a very small few reports that need this, though, so I guess I’ll do that after go-live. Yay.
Dashboard itself is just regular dashboard there’s nothing different to export. Export BAQ + Dashboard+KNTCCLayer
Then after you import into other environment generate web app + apply layer = profit
(works the same for published dashboard assemblies, with the caveat that Epicor will automatically publish your dashboard assemblies after you do it the first time or you can run a mass publish button)
