Thanks Ned. I have apparently been stuck on 8.03.305 too long. I forgot all these steps. I was able to log into the admin tools on the server and ran the necessary conversions. I can now log in to the client on the server.
The same problem is still happening on my workstation though. I right clicked on the app server and saw it was port 8301 and then checked the default.mfgsys file on my workstation and the app server is listed as epicor80340x:8301 which is the correct server name and port. Any other ideas what I might be missing?

Still the same problem with prorest. Here is what I tried:
I removed everything from the epicor\mfgsys803\db directory on new server On
the old server I ran "prostrct repair mfgsys" in the epicor\Pilot803\db
directory Ran probkup in the Pilot803 directory (created PilotBkup.1 that is
about 3G) Copied PilotBkup.1 to the epicor\mfgsys803\db directory on new
server Ran "prorest mfgsys PilotBkup.1" in the mfgsys803\db folder Received
the same error as posted before.
I also tried copying the LiveBkup.1 file that was created as part of last
night's backup using the same process and got same result.

OK, this should go simply but maybe something was missed or out of sequence.
If so, can you also try "prostrct repair mfgsys"?
Then try to backup and restore...
And, why not wait to truncate until you get this backed up and restored over
to the new server?
