Could not connect to server error

Sandra,
Reinstalling the Progress Client should not affect your ODBC settings at all.

Subject: [Vantage] Could not connect to server error

After someone here changed their IP address to match mine and I messed with
mine thinking there was an error on my pc I now get the Splash screen up for
a long time and the "Could not connect to server for database
Z:\Vantage\db\vantage, errno 0. [1432]" error. Is my only solution to
reinstall the client? Will that screw up my ODBC settings? Tried to search
the archived messages but no matter what I enter no results come up...

My memory is that that is an error saying your client cannot get to the
server. Typically a network problem - especially since someone was messing
with IP addresses. Try to see if you can see others on the network.

Sandy,
IP address must be unique. There can only be one PC using a specific IP
address. You might need to check everyone's IP address. You might need to
release the duplicates and get new ones.
Hope this helps.
