Credit Card Approval Response Times Out

When we attempt to authorize a credit card in sales order entry we are receiving an immediate request timed out response. Sometimes when we restart the Epicor Pay Services we can get it to go through but most times it times out. We have been using this for years and have never had an issue until a couple of weeks ago. Our guess is the service is being blocked by the firewall, but we cannot confirm that.

Anyone else using Credit Card Processing on E10 that has had a similar issue?

Mark, we have it time out as well or it doesn’t respond, and every time I had that I would open a ticket with Epicor who would confirm there was an issue or tell us there wasn’t one, when there very well may have been, and then I wait a few minutes, sometimes hours, and the service starts responding again.

We are seeing the same thing. Started a few days ago. Very random and will go through eventually. TIcket with Paypal but no updates. Starting a ticket with Epicor now.

Like I was saying, it does have trouble from time to time and every single time it has been on their end, not on ours- for what that’s worth.

Thanks very helpful will let you know what we find

We are having the same issues.

Support says it’s because we are still on the old paypal which they plan on ending this year.

We are looking into upgrading to the new paypal.

Hopefully it helps with the credit card timeouts.

Thanks Shawn in the meantime is there a workaround? Seems to be intermittent but getting worse by each week

Do they have any info about that?

This is all they sent me

Nothing that they told me.

Upgrade seems to be the line we are getting right now.

Thanks a ton.

You are upgrading to kinetic you’re saying?

No we are Gov Cloud so the backend is already Kinetic.

What I meant by upgrade is the Credit Card Configuration.

It uses the ‘paypal_pfnvp’ which is the one that is getting killed at the end of the year.

So they want us to upgrade to the new PayPal PPCP platform.

Our rep is trying to send me a couple of videos onn it today.

It’s saying that Epicor won’t support it, but it doesn’t say it’s killed yeah?

We are having the same issue and this is what support told me…

Epicor is aware of this problem, the DevOps team is actively engaged with PayPal on finding a resolution, and information on that progress has been shared with key members of the Kinetic team. There is no ETA for resolution as both parties are exchanging failure information so they can troubleshoot the problem. *

**With that said, this is a legacy platform for PayPal they are phasing out so we are not sure how much effort they will put into prioritizing the resolution. We would highly recommend moving to the new PayPal platform a bit more aggressively if possible.

Customers were already notified that now PayFlow Pro is a legacy product for PayPal and will be out of Support soon, we recommend to migrate their merchant account to the new PPCP, to do this they should reach out to their customer account.

@josecgomez … does ebizcharge have a place here? Do they integrate with Epicor the same way this epicor module did?

I don’t know about “the same way” but yes they integrate with Epicor

This seems to be an issue with the way that Paypal is setup in these specific instances. We use EPX and we haven’t had issued with Paypal. You can configure it to use PPCP quite simply

Any reason you think they say you need to be on Kinetic to use PPCP?
