Crm

Any 5.2 beta sites care to give us a list of CRM enhancements to look
forward to? I'm dieing to hear what's going on.

Patrick
You might want to check with your CAM later this week about CRM. Vantage
CRM pricing and availability of v 5.2 are supposed to be covered in a
meeting scheduled for May 6 - 9 in Minneapolis. I would presume that the
CRM enhancements will be covered also.

Regards,
Scott

I wondered what packages everyone is using for CRM these days? We
are going to look at some CRM packages. Vantage CRM module would be
one. Is there any feedback on that? Can anyone share their
experience with any other products? Thanks.
We had looked at Clientele and Siebel's Mid-Market edition a couple years ago.

We are about to dump GoldMine for Selltis. Looked at Clientele, but the
pricepoint was a tad too high. According to our director of sales, Selltis
is going to be the best thing next to sliced bread. Right. We do not
generate sales from a large pool of leads, our sales process is very
involved, and differs from client to client. Nothing that GoldMine or ACT
couldn't do. Just ignore the IT guy, and waste some more money....

I also looked very briefly at Microsoft's CRM: very nice Outlook type of
GUI. But the software requirements were a little bit less than outrageous:
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server (or Advanced Server) with Service Pack 3 or
later.
Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ)
Indexing Service
Internet Information Services
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.7 SP1
Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 with Service Pack 1
Microsoft .NET Framework with Service Pack 2
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack 2 or later

The one good thing about our Selltis deal is that it will be hosted, which
pretty much takes care of my synch headaches with GoldMine....

FWIW,

Paul

As an aside about Vantage CRM.....my notes on Vantage 6.10 has Epicor calling it "the CRM Release". My understanding is that it has significant changes and hooks related to CRM, especially with the new mobile connect features. When comparing products it might make sense to make sure the 6.10 version is looked at as opposed to earlier Vantage versions. Maybe check with your acocunt manager.

Actually Paul, there are only two products that you actually have to
purchase for the MS CRM. Windows 2000 Server and SQL Server. All of the
other stuff will come with one or the other software packages. It seems
like a lot of software, but most of this is included with Windows 2000
Server or available for download for free.

Lois,
We have the CRM module. There is alot of functionality in the 5.2 version,
including importing/exporting contacts to Outlook. We are not fully using
the module, but I think it might be a great tool if used. Before you add
the module to Vantage there are some setup paramaters that need to be set or
your Quotes and Sales Orders might not work.
Hope this helps.
Nancy

Let's see...

For the "standard" version, you will also need Exchange Server 2000 if you
would like to have CRM related tasks actually show up in your Outlook
calendar.

For the "professional" version (read the version with any chance at all of
back office or ERP integration) you will also need to have Biztalk server.

Good luck with your decision.

I wondered what packages everyone is using for CRM these days? We
are going to look at some CRM packages. Vantage CRM module would be
one. Is there any feedback on that? Can anyone share their
experience with any other products? Thanks.

Actually Paul, there are only two products that you actually have to
purchase for the MS CRM. Windows 2000 Server and SQL Server. All of the
other stuff will come with one or the other software packages. It seems
like a lot of software, but most of this is included with Windows 2000
Server or available for download for free.

Just thought that I would clear this up,

We are about to dump GoldMine for Selltis. Looked at Clientele, but the
pricepoint was a tad too high. According to our director of sales, Selltis
is going to be the best thing next to sliced bread. Right. We do not
generate sales from a large pool of leads, our sales process is very
involved, and differs from client to client. Nothing that GoldMine or ACT
couldn't do. Just ignore the IT guy, and waste some more money....

I also looked very briefly at Microsoft's CRM: very nice Outlook type of
GUI. But the software requirements were a little bit less than outrageous:
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server (or Advanced Server) with Service Pack 3 or
later.
Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ)
Indexing Service
Internet Information Services
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.7 SP1
Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 with Service Pack 1
Microsoft .NET Framework with Service Pack 2
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack 2 or later

The one good thing about our Selltis deal is that it will be hosted, which
pretty much takes care of my synch headaches with GoldMine....

FWIW,

Paul

Is anyone from the group using CRM? I am setting up the Master Files
for CRM and need some assistance. For instance, when adding a TASK
SET is there standard nomenclature? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark
My company will be implementing CRM, and I was wondering if there are
any issues or things to look out for?

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Anybody brave out there? We're looking at implementing CRM and we're looking for an installation in New England or the Northeast US who's implemented it, and would be willing to let us possibly visit and 'pick your brain' regarding it. I've heard that it's very easy to make it too complicated, and CRM systems have a terrible reputation for creating more problems than they solve. Especially if you feel you've done it 'right' I'd appreciate the chance to see what you've done.

Thanks.

Has anyone had any experience using Seibel on demand (CRM software delivered
over the web at a monthly rate) or any other CRM software like this? We are
on Vantage 5.2 and have Epicor's CRM product but have found it to be
unusable with version 5.2 based on experience in testing it with our
database. The sales work bench is incredibly slow and it also causes a
performance problem (admitted by Epicor - SCR 8109) with the Quote browse
function in quote entry and tracker after you load it and do the required
conversion. We are hoping that Epicor's CRM product will be functional with
8.0 and we can use it at some point but we probably will not be upgrading to
8.0 for at least another year and need some type of CRM system to use to
help manage leads and RFQ's over the web for our external sales reps off
site, and for are internal people.

Does Epicor have a partner with a CRM provider?

I was looking to see if there was a solution to CRM outside of Vantage,
but that ties into the database.

Anyone using 3rd party CRM software now?

Thanks!
