Customer Name and Address Change Impacts Old Packslip!

I bet when you created the customer, the address on the main customer screen is used as the ship to address.  This is why when you change it the system changes all those old packslips as well.

Do what Jose suggested, but I would do this for all customers and any new customer you create, create a ShipTo even if it is the same address on the main screen.  When you create a SO, then always make sure there is a Shipto ID on the ShipTo part of the SO instead of it being blank.  Then you do not have to worry about future name changes!

Subject: [Vantage] Customer Name and Address Change Impacts Old Packslip!

We have a customer who has changed their name and location.  If we update this information in customer maintenance, the pack slips that were shipped to the previous address and customer name are updated in the database to the new customer and address!  Does this make sense?  This will make a lot of the legacy information (which we might need for tax purposes) obsolete.  Why does EPICOR work this way?  Are we forced to make a completely new customer whenever a customer moves and/or changes their name?

Just add a new Default ShipTo with the new address that way it won't change the original one. Set it as a Primary ShipTo...
