Customization

Does anyone contain a customization cheat sheet? I seemed to have mis-placed mine, or plain out deleted it. I am building a customization from the Mes screen and I am having a moment on how to save or create the new customization. Any help would be appreciated.

Can someone help me understand why when I create a customization, I can't see it when I create a new sub process call. It doesn't appear in the drop down when I create the sub process. What am I missing?

Michael, I believe you first have to create it as a process in menu maintenance for it to show up in the Menu ID dropdown in Process Calling Maintenance.

I am looking for anyone that may have information on building a customization on the MES form. I built my customization, saved it as a new name and closed out of the MES. I logged into Vantage and opened up Sub Process Maintenance and created a new one. I gave it a new name, pointed it at the .dll that I am using, but when I go to add my customization to the Customization field, I cannot see it. I refreshed thinking that was the problem but still cannot see the customization that I saved in the MES. I used the instructions that I got of the Epicor site (5213MPS) but to any avay I am not having much success with my customization. If anyone out there has some reference material I could use, it would be greatly appreciated.

If its a subprocess of a subprocess you need to create a phony customization
on the original process with the same name for it to work.

Erm ok, here is a more eloquent version of what I was trying to explain. Not
sure if its your problem or not, but its worked for me inthe past.

Some child sub process programs are not separate processes, but are actually
continued within the same .dll assembly as the parent program that launches
them. These child programs are embedded sub process programs that only
launch from the parent .dll form. Because of this, you must create a dummy
parent customization that uses the same name as the customized sub process
program. You can then add this dummy parent customization to the Main
Menu, the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Menu, and/or the Handheld
Menu. Now that your parent dummy customization is in place, you can point
to the child sub process customization using Process Calling Maintenance.

I'm running 9.05.603 and I'm trying to hide some of the fields on the Order Entry screen by changing the Visible property to false. Most fields I'm hiding work fine, but two of the fields Rate Lock and Exchange Rate do not. When I first enter the Order Entry screen and go to the Detail tab those field are not visible but as soon as I click the new button the Exchange Rate box appears and then when I save the Order the Rate Lock button appears.

Has anyone else had a same or similar issue?

Thanks,

Thanks Rob that sounds like a viable workaround I'll try it, but strange that changing the visible property works for most objects but these few.

Ive seen that same behavior on other forms as well. It was just easier to let it go and move on to something else :)

I am customizing a form.  I added a numeric field - with a type of numeric editor with the binding being number03.

Is there anyway to make this read only?   I do not have a choice in the customization dialog form.

If not, is there a work around?

In the Actions Dialog -> Wizard -> Extended Properties.
