Dashboard copy all with headings

I've never been a Crystal fan. (Not the right tool for the stuff I do... Excel is much more powerful for my needs).
I just find it easier to do a BAQ export and just read the CSV right into excel (where I then do most of the 'heavy lifting' data manipulation & analysis anyway).

Whatever works for you is the way to go.

What we do (until we upgrade to 9) is create a BAQ Report Design using
Crystal and they run the report in print preview and export the report
to excel (data only) and then the labels are there. You just have to be
careful with the crystal report to make sure it exports correctly.

You could trace through the dashboards and find the underlying system
BAQs feeding them, copy them to your own BAQ(s) so you can twiddle with
them - and then export the BAQ (to CSV) with headers. Those CSV fiels
can then be read by excel as datasources (with headers intact & the
ability to add your own formulas & additional info via vlookup() excel
cell formula.).

I love the Copy All Copy Selection feature in Dashboards but am
frustrated that the headings are not there.

I made some Excel spreadsheets with headings as templates and then we
paste into row 2. This works okay as long as we don't re-arrange the
Dashboard in any way.

Is there something better that I may have missed?

This is probably not going to help you right now but in E9 you can copy with headings on dashboards. I have not come up with a way to do it in 8.0x except to do what you are doing with templates in excel

It is very easy to create a dashboard crystal report. Then just add all the fields from the dashboard to the report and export Excel data only from the report.
