[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
So I am to the point for a schema change.

I am getting an error when I try to launch the admin tools.

DataAdminMenu.w Database Mfgssh not connected. (1006)
** Unbable to run startup procedure DataAdminMenu.w. (492)

So close. ...so close.

Anyone have any ideas?
Check your PF File and make sure that the settings are correct? SQL Or
Progress?

If SQL make sure your ODBC is setup right and the PF file reflects it

Check your Epicor.ini file (DLC Path needs to be pointing to your OE
install)

If you want copy and paste your PF file here if you have doubts as yo what
should look like.

Are you performing a single or split (sql and app on separate dev machines) install?

This is the PF file that is on my admin workstation.

-disabledeltrig
-Mm 1024 -mmax 65534 -Bt 4096 -s 8000 -yy 1970 -stsh 31 -inp 32000 -tok 4000
-TB 31 -TM 32 -D 500 -l 1000 -ttmarshal 5 -tmpbsize 8 -rereadnolock -lkwtmo
180
-T "C:\DEVEpicor905\Server\config\cs"
-cpinternal utf-8 -cpstream utf-8 -cprcodein utf-8 -cpcoll icu-uca

my servername is devepicor. I am doing a single server install on Server
2008R2 with SQL 2008 64 non unicode.
