Hi all,

I designed a set of Crystal forms for P/O's, Subcon P/O's,
Despatch Notes and Invoices that all print on the same
pre-printed paper on an HP laser printer. This paper is
sorted by the supplier into alternate white and yellow
copies, so that we can print 2 copies of each of these. This
works very well indeed for us, saves on different
pre-printed forms, and saves on form complexity & print
time. I would be happy to post the design of each of the
Crystal forms, and the CorelDraw design of the pre-printed
paper, if anyone is seriously considering changing their
forms setup. They are neat and very readable! The only
slight drawback, of course, is that they are customized to
suit our company, and we use the odd field in an
unconventional manner. Plus we are a UK based company, so
obviously the forms are UK orientated.

I will keep an eye out for responses, and post the designs
if there are a few requests.

On Windows 95 and 98 machines. When you first run a DOS
application on that
computer it creates a PIF file (in your Windows\PIF
directory). If you open
the PIF file properties, there is a check box for "close on
exit". I don't
know the reason but the default is unchecked, thus leaving
the DOS window
open. Check it and the window will close when the DOS app
ends.

Does anyone know how to make a DOS batch file that
automatically closes the
DOS window after it is done? Is there a DOS command to do
this?

"exit"

Is this a batch file? I have found if a launch a CMD or BAT
file, they close
when they are done even if I don't put in an EXIT command.
If it is a batch
file, check to make sure the last command is actually
finishing by putting a
PAUSE command after the last line. If the batch file stops
to wait for a key
press, then at least you know the previous command is
finishing.

Try putting EXIT as the last line of the batch file (or the

All of a sudden this morning, we started getting the
following error message
when trying to connect to Vantage over Citrix. This is
occurring for all
Citrix sessions, local or over the T1 and we get to error
when connecting
directly to Vantage locally.

"The system cannot find the path specified. Failing

v:\vantage\db\vantage.db -ininame
v:\vantage\vantage.ini -pf v:\vantage\db\vantage.pf -N

Does anybody have any ideas as to what may be causing this?
We didn't
change anything on our workstations or on the cotrix server
over the
weekend?

Thanks!

Sarah,
Make sure your mapped drive is still in place on the
citrix server, if
so, remove the mapping and remap again. I've experienced
this same problem a
few times myself.

You may also need to reinstall the Vantage Client. That
also seems
to fix a lot of the errors. Let me know if any of these
fixes your
problem. We use Citrix at are place also.

Andy,

We have been talking about how to handle this recently. We
would like
see the forms and CorelDraw design. If you don't get enough
response,
would you email direct?

Thanks in advance,

Steve Wirtz

forms

Hi all,

I designed a set of Crystal forms for P/O's, Subcon
P/O's,
Despatch Notes and Invoices that all print on the same
pre-printed paper
on an HP laser printer. This paper is sorted by the supplier
into
alternate white and yellow copies, so that we can print 2
copies of each
of these. This works very well indeed for us, saves on
different
pre-printed forms, and saves on form complexity & print
time. I would be
happy to post the design of each of the Crystal forms, and
the CorelDraw
design of the pre-printed paper, if anyone is seriously
considering
changing their forms setup. They are neat and very readable!
The only
slight drawback, of course, is that they are customized to
suit our
company, and we use the odd field in an unconventional
manner. Plus we
are a UK based company, so obviously the forms are UK
orientated.

I will keep an eye out for responses, and post the
designs if
there are a few requests.

I'll add to the list of folks. I'd like to see your forms

have taken some heat over readability so this is right up my
alley.

Thanks!

Andy, will you be posting these? Otherwise I would
appreciate seeing them.
As we are moving to release 5.0 this month, might be a good
time to change

Create two separate .vtg files then you can change one
without affecting the other.

Hope this helps,

I tried unmapping and mapping the V drive again. Then I
tried uninstalling
and re-installing. that worked, however, that caused errors
for all the
users not on citrix. So, I reinstalled another user
workstation and that
fixed the problem for the straight users but now the citrix
users are
getting the error message again. Now I think it's because
our vntgwork
folder is on the C drive for our regular workstations, but
on the citrix
server there is no c, the c is the n. Does anybody know How
I can install
this on to the n without screwing up all the ones that hit
the c????

There are 2 options -
1) Create a New VTG file that is the same as the
Vantage.vtg file, but with the vntgwork location as N,
and then use that VTG file to start vantage.

2) If you start vantage with a command line, make sure
that the location of vntgwork is N: for your citrix users.

Thanks. I can do that. But I am running Vantage over
citrix using a
published application, so I don't know if that will work for
me. Does
anybody have their Citrix drives different? Can you tell me
how your is set
up? You published application line? Thanks,

Sarah
