Do a search in the client registry for the old server name and remove all references. Then reinstall Vantage on the client. I had the same problem with our migration from 5.1 to 6.0.

Subject: [Vantage] Dll Hell
We recently migrated to Vantage 6.0 from 5.2 (new server, same clients).
After about two weeks, I shut down the old 5.2 server
and a bunch of clients started having performance problems (trackers
took up to 1 minute to return data, Login's took 2 minutes).
The thing that was driving us crazy was that one client was having
problems, and the next cubicle was operating just fine (same computer).
Terminal server sessions had no performance problems. The next day, I
fired up the Vantage 5.2 server, and viola, problem went away.
When we installed the 6.0 clients, we uninstalled the progress 9.1D
program from the control panel. Some machines gave us an
error, and we had to hack the registry to remove the Progress client.
Most of the clients had vantage 5.1, 5,2 and now 6.0.
Those clients that had registry hacks were unaffected by the V5.2 server
shutdown.
All of the above is foundation for this question:
Does anyone know which files in the registry need to come out so Vantage
6.0 can perform normally?
regards,
