We are currently running 9.05.605 and it’s my understanding that with our current version incoming inspection can be turned on at the supplier level only and not at the part number level. That is if we were purchasing a widget a for $0.01 each and widget b for $10k each from the same supplier y, we could turn inspection on or off for supplier y but we could not turn on inspection only for widget b.
We are planning to upgrade to E10 and we are wondering if we can inspect at the part number level(e.g. in the example above inspect widget b but not widget a)?
You can set it by part class. Which is more helpful than supplier. I don’t think you can set it by specific part. (that I could find anyway). I’m on 10.2.200, but I think it’s been this way since 10.0
I forgot about that. With that functionality, you could pretty easily make a BPM to set that field by part number. You could use the attributes tab in the part entry to make a place to select whether or not a specific part number requires inspection.
